Welcome to what is turning out to be a Very Hot Summer!
We would like to say thank you for reading our Newsletter. As we always promise, we will only send out our Newsletter when we have information we deem may be of interest to you.
This Newsletter may look a little different than the last. As I am sure all of us are doing, we are reviewing our items which incur costs and rethinking their practicality. Therefore, we are designing our own Newsletter’s now.
We welcome any feedback regarding any questions which you would like for us to research regarding the Professional Private Investigations field. Or any services which you would like for us to discuss in upcoming Newsletters.
We hope that you find the articles in our Newsletters informative and helpful.
Background Checks
For Employment or Personal Reasons
Are you thinking about expanding your staff at your place of business or replacing an employee who has resigned? Or is a close relative seeing someone new? Does an elderly client or relative have a new friend that seems very interested in their financial affairs?
If you answer yes to any of these questions, it may beneficial for you to have a private investigator perform a pre-employment check or background check of these individuals.
Pre-employment screening should be a standard and routine practice in all realms of business. Volunteer organizations should think about possible liabilities they could incur without proper screening of their volunteers. One example that comes to mind is volunteer fire departments.
1. What is the driving record for your new volunteer?
2. Do they have a criminal background?
3. The volunteer will be going into burning buildings during and after a fire. Are they responsible, trustworthy individuals?
4. Are they currently involved in civil or criminal law suits?
The list for reasons to encompass pre-employment screening as a prerequisite to hiring can go on and on. In the long run it may save you time, money and many headaches.
Are you concerned about an elderly relative who has a new friend that has or is contemplating moving in with your relative? Is this person overly interested in your relative’s financial affairs? Whether this person is of the opposite sex or same sex, they should be checked out. Exploitation of the elderly is on the rise and very seldom reported to authorities.
Lone Pine Investigations has acquired pamphlets from the U. S. Department of Justice entitled “Financial Crimes Against the Elderly” of which we would be happy to mail a copy to you at your request. Just email us at LonePineInvestigations@hotmail.com requesting the pamphlet.
A microscope is overstating the degree in which an individual can really be checked out by a professional private investigator. There are privacy laws that prohibit certain aspects of background investigations and rightfully so. However, many aspects of a person’s background are available and may assist you in making a sound decision in hiring or protecting a relative from a predator.
